New Work: The Photographers of Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is a curious creature. At one end of its spectrum you have the catwalk shows which showcase the cutting edge of fashion design, with the the high and mighty of the fashion world occupying the front rows, deciding what will be turning heads on the high street and in the glossy magazines in the new season. At the complete opposite end of the spectrum you have the young hipster wannabes who descend on Somerset House trying to get noticed, wearing increasingly more and more ridiculous and outrageous outfits in an effort to get their names into a newspaper, or a blog, or be picked up as the hottest new thing on the fashion circuit.

And at the centre of all of this you have the people with cameras. Whether it’s the hardened professional photographers jostling for position in the pit at the foot of the catwalk, or the bloggers feeding the street-style frenzy that has taken over the web. I thought I’d take a look at who was taking pictures at this season’s LFW, and see which cameras are the latest must-have accessories for the fashion conscious tog about town.
